Senior Controller / Accounting Director
Salary: $140,000 to $160,000 base + Bonus

Position Overview
Confidential Company is seeking a senior-level Accounting Director to lead the accounting organization and serve as a key financial partner to executive leadership. This individual will oversee the corporate accounting function, manage the accounting team (including the Controller), and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will bring a background in transactional M&A, strong technical accounting expertise, and prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm. Experience in manufacturing environments, percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting, and a strong understanding of both U.S. GAAP and internal controls are highly desired.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the company’s accounting function, including financial close, consolidations, reporting, and compliance.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Controller and broader accounting team.
- Serve as a key liaison with leadership during mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and other transactional activities.
- Oversee financial statement preparation and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
- Develop and enforce robust internal controls and accounting processes to support business scalability.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, FP&A, and Executive teams to provide timely, accurate financial insight for decision-making.
- Ensure appropriate application of POC accounting for relevant projects.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and head/coordinate all audit activities.
- Support strategic initiatives, including system and process improvements, to drive continuous operational and financial efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including roles of increasing leadership responsibility.
- Big 4 public accounting experience required, preferably combined with corporate leadership experience in a manufacturing or energy-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated M&A transactional and integration experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven success in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Manufacturing industry experience and familiarity with POC accounting preferred.
