2nd Shift Maintenance Technician
Salary: $34.89 or $37.13 per hour plus $1 Shift Differential. OT paid after 8 hours worked in a day.
Location: Bartlett, IL
Hours: 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM (10 hour shifts), Monday - Friday (voluntary OT available)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform duties to troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain a variety of building, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Work from work orders, wiring diagrams, schematics, codes, manuals and instructions:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose nature of problem, perform variety of electrical tests, disassemble equipment and replace defective parts or connections, and reassemble and test.
- Install and modify equipment in accordance with code, process requirements, pull wires, bend conduit and make connections, build equipment and ensure power distribution is balanced for proper and reliable operation.
- Prepare and design electrical, air and gas distribution lines for new equipment installation.
- Redesign circuits as necessary, modify or prepare wiring diagrams to document changes.
- Test and tear down equipment and replace defective parts and component units such as motors, clutches, gear tranes, belts, hoses or controls.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities, check equipment function and operation and recommend required maintenance action.
- Direct helpers on repair projects.
- Assist in training departmental employees.
- Repair equipment parts and structure with brazing and welding.
- Specify and order material necessary for completion of projects.
- Perform other duties of lower labor grades.
- Use pneumatic tools, grease gun, painting tools, forklift, multi-meters and common hand tools.
- Follow safety rules and keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
