Mechanical Engineer

Up to $110,000 base + monthly bonus opportunities
About the Role
A growing manufacturing operation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support plant equipment design, reliability improvements, and production efficiency. This is a hands-on engineering role that blends mechanical design work with real-world plant support, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
What You’ll Do
- Design, modify, and improve mechanical equipment and production systems.
- Create and maintain mechanical drawings, layouts, and design packages using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Support capital projects—including equipment installation, vendor coordination, and start-up assistance.
- Troubleshoot chronic mechanical issues and identify long-term solutions to improve reliability.
- Partner closely with production and maintenance teams to enhance uptime and reduce mechanical failures.
- Lead mechanical portions of preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Maintain and update equipment/utility drawings, documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and safety improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (strongly preferred) and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of machine design, tolerances, fabrication, and mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, utilities, etc.).
- Experience supporting plant equipment, troubleshooting issues, and leading mechanical upgrades.
- Ability to read/interpret mechanical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with maintenance and production teams.
- Electrical safety certification a plus.
