Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated 1st Shift Production Supervisor to lead daily operations and ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment. This is a hands-on leadership role in a batch processing facility, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, values collaboration, and is committed to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team in a batch process production environment within the specialty chemical industry.
- Serve as a safety role model by ensuring safe practices and prompt reporting of incidents.
- Maintain high standards in quality and compliance using SOPs, ISO 9000, and 5S principles.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to cross-functional projects.
- Supervise, coach, and develop chemical operators to form a high-performance team.
- Update SOPs, batch instructions, and documentation as needed to maintain quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with production leadership to plan schedules, manage workflows, and optimize output.
- Oversee maintenance needs and coordinate work orders to ensure process reliability.
- Lead training programs on equipment operation, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Manage employee performance and support HR-related decisions including hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing required; technical degrees (e.g., chemical engineering) preferred.
- Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is essential.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Proven ability to manage, train, and motivate teams; skilled in feedback and performance development.
- Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving, planning, and organization.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
